A graduate of William Mitchell College of Law, I focused on criminal law from the very start. I spent a summer working as a law clerk at a local County Attorney's Office and quickly learned that the large number of cases assigned to each prosecutor results in significant pressure to resolve cases prior to trial. I completed a yearlong legal residency, practicing as a criminal defense attorney for the First Judicial District Public Defender's Office. I also worked for the Minnesota State Appellate Public Defender's Office, where I gained considerable experience advocating for clients appealing prior criminal convictions.
